Accessibility Statement
Bathroom World is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020
We are actively working to improve the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
This accessibility statement applies to content published on

Compliance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
standard defines requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. We have an ongoing project to make the website fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

bathroomworld.ie is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA, in accordance with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

We conduct regular testing and accessibility audits to ensure ongoing compliance with Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. Please find below the latest areas which we are currently working to improve:

Limitations
  • Images

Not all images on bathroomworld.ie currently have appropriate alt text or meta descriptions. Due to the extensive catalogue of images and Bathroom World’s limited resources and finances, it would be a disproportionate burden to tag all existing images immediately. However, Bathroom World is committed to:

  • Prioritising the addition of alt text for all newly uploaded images.
  • Gradually tagging legacy images, focusing first on those that receive the highest traffic. This work is ongoing.
Videos

Bathroom World hosts videos on its site, many of which currently lack captions. Retrospectively captioning all videos would require significant financial and staffing resources and is not currently feasible. Therefore, Bathroom World is committed to:

  • Prioritising the captioning of all newly uploaded videos.
  • Gradually captioning existing videos, focusing first on those that receive the highest traffic. This work is ongoing.
Our team continues to seek a solution to these issues and is currently working on the key pages on this site to enhance the overall accessibility. Should you wish to contact us regarding accessibility or if you observe a limitation not listed, please see the feedback and contact information section below.
